ACNH Tourists, Gifting, and Decorating – Screenshot Saturday #3

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

It’s Been a Busy Week on Graceland but I Still Haven’t Reset!

This week on ACNH tourists are all over the place. I did some gifting and of course, I spent time decorating the hotel. I’m still not spending as much time on my island as I have in the past but I am getting back into the groove of things.

I’m trying to do a little bit of the little things each day. I always pick up my tree branches and weeds and dig up my fossils (my fossils at the museum are complete so I just shove them in the storage until I have some built up and then I fill my pockets and get them assessed; then I sell them or I wrap them and give them to villagers). But I’ve also been chopping some wood.

When I did my first crafting session and remembered that I can craft up to ten items at once now (since the January 15 ACNH update), I got a little carried away and I used up all my softwood. Apparently, I didn’t have as much as I thought I did. So, now I’m in restocking mode.

I’ve been going to Nook Islands and mystery islands and just chopping away. I pick up the occasional fish, too but mostly I’m just chopping.

Lucky Tried to Move!

Not a freaking chance! There is no way I’m letting Lucky move away! He’s just too adorable. In fact, there’s not many of my villagers that I’d let move.

If someone really awesome wanted to move in (do we still get campsite visitors?) I’d consider:

  • Sydney
  • Mitzi
  • And mayyyybeeee Marina

That’s it. The rest of my villagers are staying forever or until I do a hard reset. And I’m having a hard time doing a Resetti reset so a hard reset is not likely in the near future. I did it once and it is a lot of work to get an island built up enough to be able to start a theme.

ACNH Tourists are Adorable!

Honestly, I don’t understand why some people don’t like the ACNH tourists from the hotel wandering around their islands. I love it! Then again, I don’t mind a cranky or a sporty villager, here and there. I mean, they aren’t moving in (yet?) but I like chatting with them. I follow some of them around and talk their ears off if I like them a lot.

I was excited to get my first villager that moved away from Graceland. I think Carmen was one of my OG villagers and I let her go because there was just another villager I wanted more. But she’s very sweet and I did miss her. So, I chatted with her a lot and wherever she went, she seems happy, so I’m happy.

I haven’t had a lot of villagers that I’ve let go from Graceland but I hope whoever they were they come to be an ACNH tourist from the hotel soon!

Gag Gifting My Villagers

I know the whole point of gifting your villagers is to get those elusive pictures to hang up in your house but…I like to gift them things they will wear and show off. And sometimes, I just want to laugh. So, I gift them weird things.

This week I cleaned out my storage in anticipation of resetting (ya, still hemming and hawwing over that). I had a pocketful of weird things that I was never going to wear so I pulled out some wrapping paper and wrapped them all in the same color so I wouldn’t know what was in them.

I had an eye patch, snot rags, and some funky glasses like the cyber shades and googly eye glasses. I ran around and distributed them randomly. Some of the things can’t be worn by villagers and they weren’t terribly impressed (like the snot rags) but others went over well.

Coco loved her eye patch and I have to agree that it really suited her. Zucker got a cotton eye patch (like the broke my eye kind) and he seemed to like it, too. I had three pairs of cyber shades and Lucky, Patty, and Octavian got them and they wore them all day long. I have to say they looked really snazzy.

The Hotel Has Eight Rooms Now!

The more hotel rooms I have the more ACNH tourists I can have on my island. Right? Is that how it works? I hope so!

I did 2 new rooms this week and I think they are pretty cute.

I did a cityscape room and a Japanese-retro room.

I wanted the cityscape room to be very chic and penthouse like so I put windows with a city view on all the walls. I used darker colors and red accents throughout and gave then a nice chic kitchen. The rooms are divided by open walls so you can get lots of light during the day and see the view from all angles. Even the bathroom has a city view because you’re way high up in your penthouse so no one is going to see you doing your business. And who doesn’t want to chill in the jacuzzi tub with a glass of soda and look out over the city?

The Japanese-retro room was much more what I was going for when I created the first Japanese style room. I chose blue accents for it’s soothing appeal and went with a long and narrow room. There’s a compact little kitchen, a place to eat, a mini-fridge, and a place to sleep and watch TV from. Of course, we’ve got the noodles and some fish inspired food.

To Use Resetti’s Reset Service Or…A Slumber Island?

Since my Lake Resort themed island is complete, I am technically ready to use Resetti’s reset service but…I’m not emotionally ready. So, I’ve been holding off.

But I want to do something different. So…maybe a Slumber Island is a good alternative?

I’ve really been wanting to do a cyberpunk themed island so maybe I could choose the medium island and try it on there? I have lots of items that would be good for a cyberpunk themed island. I couldn’t have the robot villagers that I anticipate having though. But maybe that’s ok?

I’ll decide soon. Maybe.

Have you used Resetti’s reset service? If yes, how did you feel about it?
