15 Cozy Halloween Games With Zero Jump Scares

•

All the spooky vibes, none of the jump scares!

I love Halloween. That said, I don’t like being scared so cozy Halloween games are much more up my alley. I like cute ghosts, pumpkins and soft mysteries. Keep it gentle, please.

Fortunately, there are lots of cozy gamers out there like me who want to experience the season. If you’re looking for new cozy Halloween games to try check out some of these.

Cozy Halloween Games – all Spook, No Nightmares!

  1. Cozy Grove — you’re a Spirit Scout on a haunted island, helping ghost bears. Spooky-sweet, one small day at a time. This game is excellent for those who don’t have a lot of time to play because it’s best played in small segments.
  2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons — Not a whole game of Halloween but loads of added Halloween gameplay. I love this time of the year on ACNH. Jack the pumpkin czar, candy, costumes, and decorating your island for Halloween night. Checking in on Halloween to play with your villagers is a must!
  3. Stardew Valley — Again, not a whole game of Halloween, but special events make this a game you want to play this season. Spirit’s Eve festival with its haunted maze, plus peak fall vibes all season.
  4. Spiritfarer — ferrying spirits to the afterlife. Gentle, emotional, not scary — bring tissues, not courage. You’ll get attached.
  5. Wylde Flowers — a witchy farming sim with a coven, spells, and a little mystery in the woods. I’ve been playing this game off and on for about a year. Even if I’m gone for a while, it’s easy to drop back into and it’s a great choice for anyone who wants to start something new this month.
  6. Little Witch in the Woods — play a witch apprentice: potions, magical creatures, forest exploring. Pure Halloween vibes but easy and gentle.
  7. Potion Permit — brewing potions in a small town that doesn’t trust you yet. Alchemy with a cozy heart.
  8. Wytchwood — you ARE the witch, crafting spells in a dark fairy-tale forest. Moody, funny, story-driven.
  9. Costume Quest — the most Halloween game ever: kids in costumes, trick-or-treating, turn-based battles against monsters stealing candy.
  10. Luigi’s Mansion 3 — ghost hunting as comedy. The “scares” are slapstick; Luigi is more frightened than you’ll ever be.
  11. Strange Horticulture — running an occult plant shop for strange customers. Dark, quiet, puzzle-y.
  12. Beacon Pines — a spooky-cute storybook mystery. Something’s wrong in this little town, and it’s up to some kids to figure it out.
  13. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp — Halloween events and spooky-cute furniture, pocket-sized. (Now lives on as Pocket Camp Complete.) Great choice for mobile phone gamers.
  14. Frog Detective 1: The Haunted Island — a haunted island, a tiny mystery, and a frog with a magnifying glass. Short, silly, zero fear.
  15. Disney Dreamlight Valley — Halloween events, pumpkins everywhere, and Jack Skellington himself in the valley.

My Choices

I’ll definitely be playing some Animal Crossing this month. I have a new island and it needs some attention but I’m looking forward to having some fun with my villagers, too. Since my main island is being redecorated with a cyberpunk theme, I won’t be collecting or crafting Halloween items on that one but I’m going to do my best to set up some cute Halloween areas for some October fun.

I’m probably going to drop back into Disney Dreamlight Valley to check out the seasonal activities. I haven’t played in ages and I do genuinely enjoy this game. I especially want to meet Jack Skellington!

I’m going to try to add some of these games to my streams earlier in the day.

If you scare easily, these games are all a good choice. Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and Disney Dreamlight Valley would be my top picks for anyone who wants a game that will have some Halloween vibes but will be playable after October. Start any of these now and I promise, you’ll still be playing them at this time next year.
