When I found out there were Fortnite controllers coming out for GameSir, you can bet I pre-ordered that in about hal a second! They ship out on October 20, 2026!
GameSir is a company that specializes in controllers, including mobile gaming controllers. They collaborated with Epic (via IMG Licensing) to offer three mobile controllers with the Fortnite them. And the best part? They come with a Fortnite emote!
These Fortnite controllers are perfect for anyone who does a lot of mobile phone gameing, of course. But you can also use them for your tablet, Switch or with XBox cloud gaming. Here’s everything you need to know about them.
Who Is GameSir, Anyway?
If you love playing games on your phone, you’ve likely already looked for mobile game controllers. And if you’ve looked for mobile game controllers, you’ve seen the name, GameSir. They were founded by Yao Ma in China in 2013 (but their North American Headquarters is in Orlando, Florida). For the last decade and a bi they’ve been working hard on building a good reputation for controllers that don’t cost a fortune but are still high-quality. Fair price, great gear.
The highlights reel is genuinely impressive:
- T4 Pro — a frequent Amazon Best Seller
- X3 Type-C — the world’s first mobile controller with a built-in cooler (yes, really)
- X2 Pro — officially Xbox-licensed, hit No. 1 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases
- G8 Galileo and G8 Plus — the full-size mobile controllers that made reviewers sit up
- Themed collabs with Zenless Zone Zero and NBA 2K Online 2
If you’ve heard of the Hall Effect stick technology – GameSir is responsible for that. It uses magnetic sensors insteat of little potentiometers that wear out and cause stick drift. PocNetwork said, “GameSir has built a name for itself with Hall Effect tech that’s become something of an industry standard for drift resistance.” Trusted Reviews went further: “GameSir makes the best pure mobile gaming controls on the market.”
The G8 Plus Fortnite Edition — $89.99
This is the one – the one I had to have. The G8 Plus Fortnite Edition is the standard G8 Plus hardware — the controller Android Central’s reviewer picked as their most-used after testing half a dozen in a year — dressed up in three Fortnite designs:
- Peely (yellow/blue)
- Cuddle Team Leader (pink — obviously my pick)
- Victory Royale (black/green)
Under the character art of the Fornite controllers, here’s what you’re getting:
- drift-resistant Hall Effect thumbsticks and Hall Effect analog triggers
- two mappable rear buttons (hello, faster edits and builds)
- full-size console-style buttons and triggers with chunky ergonomic grips
- Bluetooth LE wireless
- around 8 hours of battery life
- support for phones up to 210mm across Android, iOS, tablets, PC, and even Nintendo Switch 1 and 2
- in the box: three interchangeable stick caps, a sticker, a USB-C cable, and the Item Redemption Card for your in-game loot.
What do reviewers think of the G8 Plus platform? There’s no way around it — they love it:
“I tested a half-dozen in the last 12 months, and the one I ended up using the most is GameSir’s G8 Plus. Unlike most mobile gaming controllers, the G8 Plus has full-size buttons and triggers, and that makes all the difference while gaming.” — Android Central
“GameSir uses hall effect magnetic sensors, and that means you’ll never see any stick drift; while I’ve only had the G8 Plus for a month, I used the G8 Galileo for the better part of a year now, and even after hundreds of hours of use, it has the same great feedback as day one.” — Android Central
“It’s every inch a match for a high quality console controller. Indeed, in the case of the G8 Plus’s Hall Effect analogue sticks, it’s even better than the default Xbox and PS5 provisions.” — Trusted Reviews
Gamereactor, reviewing the G8 family, called it “perhaps the best build quality we have seen on this type of controller” and “by far the most comfortable and responsive mobile controller I have tested.”
One note: those quotes are for the standard G8 Plus hardware, not the Fortnite Editions specifically — the Fortnite versions hadn’t launched when those reviews were written. But it’s the same platform under the hood, so the praise transfers.
The X5 Lite Fortnite Edition — $49.99
On a budget, or prefer wired? The X5 Lite Fortnite Edition is the $49.99 alternative. It’s officially Xbox-licensed and Apple MFi-certified, built with Xbox Cloud Gaming in mind, and it connects over USB-C — plug and play, ultra-low latency, no battery to charge (it’s phone-powered, with pass-through charging so your phone doesn’t die mid-match).
It’s also delightfully light at around 135–145g, telescopes to fit phones and small tablets, and packs Hall Effect joysticks plus Hall Effect analog triggers, swappable ABXY buttons, and a movable USB-C connector. Trade-offs versus the G8 Plus: no rear paddles, smaller grips, and wired-only — but also nearly half the price.
Reviewers of the standard X5 Lite were impressed for the money. TechRadar wrote: “The real highlight of the X5 Lite, though, is its Hall Effect analog sticks. Despite their small size, they’re smooth and precise, and rebound quickly to their starting position.” Phandroid added: “In addition to being comfortable, the controls are nice and responsive, and the wired connection does mean that you’re unlikely to get lag when using the X5 Lite with your games.”
The In-Game Loot: Which Cosmetic Comes With Which Controller
This is the part I know you’re actually here for. Every controller ships with a physical Item Redemption Card — you pick the design with the cosmetic you want, redeem the code on the Epic account linked to your Fortnite profile, and it shows up in your Locker. Here’s the confirmed mapping:
G8 Plus Fortnite Edition ($89.99):
- Peely → Bully Emote
- Cuddle Team Leader → Burpee Emote
- Victory Royale → Gun Show Emote
X5 Lite for Xbox Fortnite Edition ($49.99):
- Durrr Burger → Extra Cheese Glider
- Black Knight → Storm Sigil Glider
- Jonesy → On Your Mark Emote
A couple of honest caveats: these aren’t stated to be permanently exclusive cosmetics — several are established Fortnite items getting a new hardware-bundle route. And GameSir’s press material hints at additional items (including the Cerberus glider) that aren’t mapped to any visible design yet, so more editions may be on the way.
Launch Details
The collection was officially announced around September 20 via PR Newswire (facilitated by IMG Licensing), after units first leaked online around September 16. GameSir’s VP of Partnerships, Eric Bright, said: “Our goal wasn’t simply to build another controller. We wanted to create the ultimate Fortnite experience — from the premium hardware to the authentic character-inspired designs.”
The lineup is reportedly launching October 20, 2026, available from GameSir.com, Amazon, Best Buy, AliExpress, TikTok Shop, and Walmart. Pre-orders are open now.
My Take on the Fortnite Controllers
As someone who streams Fortnite and plays a ton of mobile games, this collab feels like it was made for me. A drift-proof controller with rear buttons for faster building, wrapped in Cuddle Team Leader pink, with a bonus emote in the box? That’s an easy yes. I’ll absolutely be putting the G8 Plus through its paces on stream once it arrives — drop a follow on Twitch if you want to see how it handles real matches.
Are you picking one up? And more importantly — which design are you choosing? Let me know in the comments.
