If you don’t mind a marathon, this game is awesome…but is is really a game?
I haven’t written about Atlas Earth before because in all honesty, I wasn’t sure if I was going to stick to playing it. But it’s been seven months and despite the fact that I have only earned just over $13, I think it is going to be a keeper.
Is Atlas Earth Really a Game?
Calling Atlas Earth a “game” is really a stretch. There’s no quests. No action. No running around. It’s the kind of game you open up a couple times a day for a few minutes at a time and do a few minor tasks. While you’re doing other things. Or while you’re relaxing. But yet…there are game-like aspects to it.
There’s the Reward Ladder. There is collecting diamonds. And there’s building up your virtual real estate to compete with other players for titles like mayor, premier, and president to receive additional perks.
Atlas Earth Basics
Atlas Earth is a simple game. You buy virtual parcels of land with Atlas Bucks and watch your earnings grow. Yes, you earn real life money from virtual real estate that you buy in real life locations.
It can go very, very slowly, or, if you know the tricks of the game, you can grow quite quickly. You can spend money to make earnings grow faster or you can go the free to play (F2P) route.
If you choose to go the F2P route, your gameplay will focus on a few simple tasks:
- playing ads – you can play ads up to 5x to boost your rent for 5 hours; you can also play an ad every 20 minutes to get a free Atlas Buck.
- Collecting diamonds – you’ll see them on the map surrounding you (or sometimes you might have to go outside of your area to see one) and when the diamond is inside your circle you can tap on it to collect it)
- Spinning the wheel – you get 3 free spins per day and you need to use a diamond for each spin; you can get 2 more additional spins and use 2 more diamonds by watching ads; each spin gives you the chance to win anywhere from 1-50 Atlas Bucks or a token (I’ll add more on tokens later but tokens are not going to be useful to the vast majority of people playing the game)
- Completing surveys for Atlas Bucks
- Playing games for Atlas Bucks
- Completing tasks on the Reward Ladder to win Atlas Bucks
All of these things will help you progress very slowly through the game. Yes, very slowly. It took me months to figure out how to make best use of my time in this game so my earnings were very slow. I almost gave up.
Atlas Earth is a marathon, not a sprint but if you keep at it, you’ll eventually start to see income generated from the game grow. And who doesn’t like a little extra money?
When I first started this game in January or February of 2026 I really didn’t know what I was doing. I read some guides but it was so overywhelming to me. I played some days and other days I completely forgot about it. Somewhere along the line, I became totally obsessed with it though.
Now, it is part of my daily routine. I start it up in the morning and run the ads, collect any diamonds near by, get my daily check in rewards, and watch the earnings grow. I’m still earning slowly, but much faster than at the beginning.
An additional way to increase your earnings with playing Atlas Earth is to play it through the MistPlay app. It might not be available to everyone at first but it may show up eventually. I start the Atlas Earth app through MistPlay and earn units simply by having Atlas Earth open. Units on MistPlay allow you to cash in for gift cards or PayPal. Apps like MistPlay have funded a lot of my other gaming purchases in my past year like my Switch 2 and games.
How Do You Make Money in Atlas Earth?
When you first log in to Atlas Earth you’ll get 100 free Atlas Bucks to buy your first parcel of land. That sounds like a lot but it really isn’t. LOL. For 100 Atlas Bucks you get one parcel of land and, depending on what kind of parcel you get (Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary) you’ll earn at least $0.0000000011 per second. If you boost your rent (there’s a “Boost Rent” button at the top right of your screen) you’ll get $0.0000000330 per second. The boosted amount does depend on where you live though. If you don’t live in the US, it will likely be less.
You make more money by earning more Atlas Bucks and buying more parcels of land.
Can you play the game without spending money? Absolutely. It just takes longer.
Here’s How I Play It
There are a lot of little things to do in Atlas Earth that will help you earn money faster. I have a little routine each day.
- Open app through MistPlay
- Do Daily Check In (calendar icon at bottom left of screen)
- Click on the Earn tab at the bottom and choose “Watch an Ad” – get one free Atlas Buck
- Boost Rent 5x to max out rental income for 5 hours
- Check for diamonds in surrounding area
- Go to Events tab at the bottom and then spin the wheel 5x (assuming I have 5 diamonds, which I usually do because I look for them everywhere I go)
- Check for tasks on the Reward Ladder that I can complete.
- Leave app open while I journal or do whatever and run another ad every 20 minutes from the Earn tab to get another Atlas Buck; I might do this once or twice or if I’m having a lazy day I might do it off and on all morning.
The Daily Check In
The Daily Check In is something I haven’t said much about. It’s the simplest way to get 1 Atlas Buck without watching an ad. Most days, you only get 1 Atlas Buck but on Day 7 you get 8 Atlas Bucks, Day 14 you get 25 Atlas Bucks, Day 30 you get 50 Atlas Bucks, Day 60 you get 80 Atlas Bucks, and Day 90 you get 200 Atlas Bucks. In total, over 90 days, you get 200 Atlas Bucks. That’s 462 Atlas Bucks over the course of 3 months without watching a single ad.
The Earn Tab
The third action – watching an ad on the Earn tab every 20 minutes, ads up. This is where the AFK part comes in. I plug in my phone while I’m doing other things in the morning (getting ready for work, drinking my coffee, journaling, whatever) and run an ad whenever I think about it. Sometimes I’m pretty vigilant and other times I forget about it and my phone just goes to sleep. But that’s a free Atlas Buck every 20 minutes and it ads up.
On the Earn tab you’ll see three other options. Atlas Arcade is, obviously, games. You can play a variety of games (the available games will change) and they have milestones you can reach to earn Atlas Bucks. Some of the games are pretty fun and I’ve found a bunch of games that I enjoy. Survey for Bucks is doing surveys. Sometimes they are just a pain in the butt because you get screened out but I usually get a few good ones and some of them actually have fairly decent Atlas Bucks rewards for completing them. I honestly really only do the surveys when I’m trying to complete a task on the Reward Ladder though. And then there is Atlas Travel. Going somewhere that requires a hotel stay? Try to book your hotel through Atlas Travel because you’ll get a good chunk of Atlas Bucks for it. I haven’t used it yet but I’m thinking I might go away in the fall so I’ll try it out and report back when I do
I try to keep my rent boosted throughout the day. If I have two minutes and the rent can be boosted, I’ll run another ad. I can keep the rent boosted about 20 hours a day (I miss some time while I’m sleeping).
Diamond Hunting
Honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of the game. I usually have way more diamonds than I need to complete the daily spins. But diamond hunting has motivated me to get out of the house on my days off and get some exercise.
Need a break from doing other things? Go for a quick walk, open Atlas Earth, and look for a few diamonds. I’d say I get 5-10 a day without any major effort.
But if I make an effort to go for an actual walk for 20 minutes or more, I can get up to 30 diamonds in a day. It motivates me to get more exercise. And I can see where other people are buying parcels and where they might be finding more valuable parcels of land (rare, epic, and legendary parcels are supposedly random but I find where there is a cluster of them there is likely more nearby).
There are some days when it is just too damn cold or I am too lazy to go out diamond hunting though, so the build up of diamonds gives me space to not go out. I have diamonds in my backlog so it’s all good.
Atlas Earth Events
Don’t forget to check your Events tab at the bottom of the screen. This section isn’t just for spinning the diamond wheel.
You can make more Atlas Bucks by doing surveys or playing games. But honestly, I don’t really like doing surveys and a lot of the games just aren’t that interesting to me. But will I do it when there is a survey boost or a game boost? Darned rights.
You’ll also want to keep an eye on the Event tab for the Super Rent Boost days. There’s usually two a month and you earn rent 50x faster! So, on those days, ya, I’m totally getting up in the middle of the night to maximize my rent boosts (and to be real, I’m old so getting up in the middle of the night to pee is normal, but I don’t bother to boost rent when I do that unless it is a Super Rent Boost day).
The Event tab will also inform you about the mini-games. Mini-games are mostly just for fun. Unless you’re competitive. And then it is about winning.
There are a variety of simple mini-games you can play. Golf, fishing, bowling, etc. They aren’t complicated. Mostly just hitting a button at the right time. Playing one game does nothing really, other than kill some time. But if you get good at the game and get lots of wins and play for the time it is available, you might find yourself in the top 100 of winners and get yourself some free Atlas Bucks.
Payouts for mini-games vary depending on where you live, where you place, and the “pool” of winnings (which increase the more people play the game). You can win anywhere from 10 to several hundred Atlas Bucks.
But the mini-games are featured on the Reward Ladder so you’ll want to learn how to play them. Or at least run the ad before the game and open the game and let it run. You don’t even have to actually play it. Just let the other person win, if you just want to check off a task for the Reward Ladder.
The Reward Ladder
This is probably going to be your biggest source of getting Atlas Bucks. You’ll find the Reward Ladder in the check list icon on the bottom left of your screen (right under the daily check in icon). It’s simple – earn points by completing challenges. Accumulated points earn Atlas Bucks.
Challenges include:
- playing mini-games
- boosting rent
- purchasing badges
- converting rent to Atlas Bucks
- booking travel
- shopping (in the US only)
- completing milestones in Atlas Arcade
- doing surveys
The challenges can show up multiple times with increasing progress for each task. For example, the first time you see the task, “Play bowling match” you might only have to play 10 matches. But the next time, it will be 15 matches, and then 20 matches.
You can see all the challenges available to you by clicking on the View Challenges button at the top of the Reward Ladder.
You can totally do this for free. But if you’re going to spend money anywhere, this is it. You can get a monthly subscription ($9.99 a month US if you do the monthly subscription) and your rewards will be substantially higher.
And if you complete the Reward Ladder before the month is over, you’ll get a bonus prize. Free players usually get a badge (eventually contributes to higher rental income) and paying subscribers get a Legendary Parcel upgrade worth 2500 Atlas Bucks (value of about $150 to buy it) and that Legendary Parcel earns $0.00001332 per second (when boosted) which translates to $3.45 per months (depending on where you live and how much you boost your rent, of course).

At first I didn’t have the patience for it. It’s not a traditional game and you only reap the benefits from it over a long period of time. If you choose to invest money in it, you’re not going to see that money back for a long, long, time.
Honestly, I have spent money (I need to go back and figure out how much and then I’ll update) and it’s kind of addicting. I don’t know how long it will take to see that money back. Eventually, I’ll have to stop spending money. But it will be interesting to see what benefits I might get from it other than entertainment.
