Fall is coming! Yes, I’m excited!
For those of you who haven’t been around for long, I feel like it’s necessary to explain something. Even for those of you who have been following for a while, you might not remember this
My summer schedule and my schedule for the rest of the year are very different.
In the summer, I’m at the lake several days a week and working in the city for the rest of the week. That means, there are just certain days I can’t stream much, if at all. I might slip in a Prism mobile gaming stream once in a while when I’m at the lake but even then, it’s hard to have any conversation because there’s always someone around. So this summer, that means that Thursday to Saturday I’m most not available to stream.
During the other parts of the year, I’ve had a bit of an erratic schedule because my work schedule was erratic. That’s the life of a server.
But this year, I have an actual schedule at work! It’s been weird to get used to. I’m working Sunday to Wednesday and mostly, it’s been full days. I’m not sure if that will continue. We’ll see. But I have definite days off.
So, after September 15th, I’ll have a more regular streaming schedule. I should have streams on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for at least 3 or 4 hours.
I haven’t completely worked out my schedule though because I’m trying to do a lot. I have so many things I want to do and accomplish on my days off. Besides chilling out I mean.
Stepping Up My Blogging
One of my first priorities is getting this blog populated with posts so that I can get approved for Google Ads. I know, no one like ads but it’s that or make it a subscription type of thing and I don’t want to do that. At some point I might include a subscription option for those who really hate them but I’m hoping to have Google Ads approved on my site by the end of September.
In order to get approved for Google Ads I need more content. I’m thinking 50 blog posts should do the trick. And I’m getting close to that.
I’m also going to try to do two blog posts a week and plan to post them on specific days. If I recall from back in the day when I was big into blogging, being consistent was good for the algorithms (just like it is on social media). I’m not good at that because when I write something I’m proud of, I want to publish it right away! I want people to read it!
I think I want to keep going with my Fork/Knife series and publish one episode per week so that you all can really get into it. I know this story is fun and I know that those who have read it really like it. So, I want to get back into it and get some progress with it.
The other post will be some other game related content. Like maybe an Animal Crossing update once a month. A game review once a month. A Fortnite creator map review once a month. And something else. Maybe an “adulting” post? I don’t know. But I want to have some kind of consistency. And then maybe a random post here and there.
Ebooks are Coming!
I really want to get back to publishing some ebooks in the coming year. I have the idea and I think it is something that will resonate with my girlie gamers.
In the past, I’ve written a lot of short stories/novellas and that length seems to really work for me. I have a novel in progress but it’s a work of love and my interest in it comes and goes.
And that’s a real thing for me. I get bored easily. And if whatever I’m writing takes too long to write…I often get side tracked by something new and shiny. A new idea. A new plot. A new outline.
This series I’m going to be publishing is for the girlie gamers. It’s quick and easy reading. It’s sweet, romantic, and definitely on the spicy side. And the main characters are all gamers. Every book has new characters, a new story that features a specific game that the main characters have in common, and unique conflicts. And did I mention that they are kinda hot?
I have the first one outlined and I’ve started writing it and I’m hoping to start releasing stories in the fall.
Schedules are Hard Though…
I’ve never been great at schedules. Even work schedules suck.
But, that being said, I know I do much better when I have a schedule. Even in the morning, I need a few hours to just chill and not have a schedule. And then I need time to do things I need to do.
So, I’m working on creating a schedule I can live with and yet give myself time for raw dogging life.
I’m raw dogging my writing (I’m not going to force myself into a template) so I can be creative. I’m raw dogging my gaming and I’m going to play the games I feel like playing. I’m kinda raw dogging my blogging (I’m going to try to be consistent but I’m giving myself of creative freedom).
But I’m going to build a schedule for lots of things, too.
So, hopefully, before summer is over, I will have a schedule that I can stick with. And you can count on times when you can find me streaming.
