Sidekick Play Park Fortnite Map Review

Level up and bond with your sidekick

What’s better than a cozy Fortnite map? Sidekick Play Park – a Fortnite map where you get to lavish some attention on your favorite sidekick and have some fun!

What is Sidekick Play Park?

Sidekick Play Park is a Fortnite map where you get to focus your attention on your favorite Sidekick. You and your cute little friend can play together and grow your bond. Some of the features you’ll find include a treat station, agility training course, a village where you search for bones, a sidekick parkour (I still haven’t mastered this), and more.

The best part? You can play in public games and not have to worry about getting shot down. There are no weapons in this game. That means you and your Sidekick can make friends with others. Turn your mic on or communicate in the chat.

First impressions: the good stuff

If getting more XP to level up your Battle Pass is important to you, this is a good map choice. You earn just from existing of course but the main source of XP is dancing by the campfire, like in other maps. This is honestly my favorite part. I like just vibing with people. And sometimes you meet some besties! You can pet each other’s Sidekicks, too!

You can also earn XP by collecting the eggs that are scattered around the map (or during Halloween, there’s pumpkins!). Getting XP without zero danger attached? I’m all for that!

There are also missions each time you enter the map. My very first one was to bathe my Sidekick, which sent me wandering around like a lost tourist until I found the salon. Yes, there’s a salon. You can bathe your Sidekick and groom them, and it is exactly as adorable as you’re picturing.

Other missions include:

  • playing the music at the club
  • giving your Sidekick a treat
  • checking in at the hotel
  • finding your room at the hotel
  • finding bones in the village
  • and more

There are loads of things to do when you start looking around this map. It might seem like a lot at first but use the missions to guide you.

At the salon, you can give your Sidekick a bath and clip their nails. At the hotel you can check in and find your room. The agility course is fun – try to beat the best time! In the middle of the park, there’s a treat station where you can give your Sidekick a snack.

Don’t forget to stop by the photo studio. Take some cute pics (currently Halloween themed!) with your Sidekick and with new friends. Ya, I might have a few dozen pictures saved now.

The Sidekick splash party is lots of fun, too. It’s simple and perfect.

The hardest thing I’ve come across is the Puppy Parkour. I confess, I’m horrible at it. I haven’t gotten to the top yet. It’s an obstacle course where you start by jumping on the deer’s head. Then go from pet bed to dog dish to mat.

The social spots

There are two places you can get social with others. Neon Paws is the dance club. It’s super cute and a great place to show off your favorite dance emotes. I’ve spent a bit of time there just vibing with other players and sharing emotes. You don’t have to chat or anything. It’s just you and your Sidekick and them and their Sidekick having a good time.

As I mentioned earlier, this map has a campfire, like lots of the other social maps. You can watch your XP increase as you spend time there. Just sit or get your groove on.

Second, the campfire. Like a lot of these maps, dancing at the campfire gets you extra XP, so plant yourself there when you want a little bonus for your groove.

The cozy verdict

Sidekick Play Park has become one of my favorite cozy maps, lately. I lose track of time. There’s lots to do but it’s easy to just be AFK and chat with the Cozy Squad when I’m there. The island is the epitome of the Cozy Squad – good vibes and chill moments.

Best for: creature-buddy bonding and zero-pressure XP
Try this first: Hit Neon Paws early. If someone’s in there dancing, join them. That’s the whole game, really.
