Sprite Garden Is Adorable – And Necessary!
One of the things I love about Fortnite is the creator maps, including Sprite Garden. These kind of creator maps make Fortnite about more than just shooting things. It’s about Battle Royale and Reload but it’s also about chill islands, cafes, and prop hunts. Usually Epic focuses on the sweaty stuff but this island is made by Epic – Sprite Garden. It’s almost like they knew we were going to need this. Which I’m sure they did.
What is Sprite Garden?
The Sprite Garden is your space to visit and play with all the Sprites you’ve collected in Battle Royale games. This is their home and you’ll find all your sprites here. They roam around and have tea with each other. You can display your favorites on pedestals or pick them up. They are so cute when they follow you around. Or just watch them doing their thing.
In the Sprite Garden map, thre’s no combat. You don’t have to worry about someone sniping you while your relaxing with your babies. Epic clearly wanted this to be a place of peace, knowing there was a desire for a map like this. Drop into a map with your friends (you and up to three others) and visit each other’s space or go into a public map and hang out with other people who just want to chill.
When you drop into the map for the first time, one of the BR NPCs, Jade, will walk you through a tutorial. And then it’s up to you do decorate..

Be careful to go into the one that says, “created by epicgames” because there are other copycat maps. I’m not saying they are bad. I haven’t check any of them out. But the other maps are not the original.
What To Do

Sprite Garden is a relaxing island and you don’t have to do a lot. Once you have collected Sprite in Battle Royale games, they go right to your garden and live there. After the tutorial, you can place four buildings around the perimeter of the main house. You can decorate them with display spots and expand them.
Visit your friends’ gardens. It’s fun to see how others have set things up. It’s kind of like visiting someone else’s island on Animal Crossing New Horizons. If your Sprites could talk to you like the villagers, I’d be in. heaven.
Work on acheivements. They are simple – visit multiple days in a row, build four houses – and they are purely decorative. There’s no real rewards for doing them and if you don’t you’re not missing out on anything.
The Cozy Factor
In my opinion, the Sprite Garden was genius. It is almost like Epic knew that sometimes we all crave a quiet and relaxing spot to hang out with friends and come down from the battle. Sure, there are other cozy maps that are just as chill but this one is by Epic. I think that makes it even more beautiful.
There’s one thing though – you gotta collect some Sprites to have a Sprite Garden. If you never play Battle Royale, you’re not going to have any sprites and your garden will be empty. But I guess if you’re not into collecting the Sprites, you’re probably not going to want to use the Sprite Garden anyway. LOL
Best for: decompression between (or instead of) Battle Royale sessions
Try this first: Let Jade finish the tutorial, build your first Sprite home, then go visit a friend’s garden for inspiration.
One More Reason to Visit Soon:
It sounds like the Sprites might not survive the transition to Chapter 8. Hopefully the Sprite Garden will. I believe that Epic created it knowing full well that some of us could not handle losing all of our squishy babies forever.
Rumor has it that a datamine named Blortzen stumbled around the game’s Sprite extraction files and discovered that they were tagged for removal upon the Chapter 8 launch. One of these was the core file that the whole system runs on. That would mean that Sprites are slotted to be vaulted.
The Sprites should be around through the mini-season that starts on November 1st.
None of this has been confirmed by Epic yet. So far, this is just a rumor. I mean, Epic said at one point that Sprites were here to stay, didn’t they? Or did I imagine that? But maybe that’s why they made the Sprite Garden? So they would be here to stay.
